About Our Services in Hartford County, CT
There are three general types of services we offer the patients of South County Psychiatry - and we personalize our treatments using an evidence-based approach. In other words, we only use techniques that work to help our patients successfully manage their mental health.
We will talk with you to discuss your treatment goals as well as use our expertise to diagnose any mental health conditions. Together, we will come up with a treatment plan that may include the following:
Psychotherapy - Psychotherapy basically refers to talking and listening. We want you to feel heard and to express what you are feeling and how you are feeling. And, we want you to listen as we help give you the tools you need and empower you to use them.
Psychotherapy is a common treatment used for many different mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, stress, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, and various negative thought patterns.
Medication Management - Medication may be used on its own or in combination with psychotherapy. At South County Psychiatry, we work slowly and methodically when it comes to medication - as it is not often our first go-to option. So, whenever we prescribe something, you can feel confident that it plays a role in treatment - and it will be monitored to ensure the right results are achieved.
Medication can be used for all sorts of mental illnesses, but it is commonly used to help treat depression, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, panic disorders, and more.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) - This non-invasive procedure is used to stimulate nerve cells in the brain as part of a safe and effective treatment method for major depression and OCD.
